Premier League – goals and statistics

The Premier League of English football kicked off on Saturday 15 August 1992. Compared to the early days there was a decrease in the strike rate of goals per game. With a more tactical and defensive nature in modern day football in contrast to the carefree ways of attacking football of the olden days.
