Founded already in 1881, Leyton Orient FC has a long history. Leyton Orient FC became a member of Football league in 1905. Their best result is a 22th place in Division 1 in 1963, the only season in the highest division. Semi-finals in FA Cup was reached in 1978.

History
The club was originally named Glyn Cricket and FC. Many name changes would occur. A change of name to Eagle FC happened in 1886, a change of name to Orient in 1888, a change of name to Clapton Orient in 1898, a change of name to Leyton orient in 1946. Leyton was a town district and Orient a shipping company in which many of the players were employed.
